Wheel center bearing “howls”

If noise produced by the wheel centre bearing has appeared recently, it can be eliminated with the help of XADO Repairing grease. High concentration of Revitalizant® in this grease allows for the removal of considerable accumulated wear in the friction pairs.

Application instructions

It is necessary to disassemble the unit, clean the bearing of the old grease and flush it. By visual check, it is recommended to make sure that there are no critical scratches, chips, or craters deeper than 0.1 mm on the operating tracks of the bearing. The bearing cage should not be damaged. After that, pack the bearing with XADO Repairing grease. By filling with the grease pack not less than 2/3 of the free inner volume of the bearing. After 1,200-1,800 miles of run, a decrease in the noise level in the bearing will be observed.

Recommendations

After 5,000–6,200 km of run with XADO Repairing grease and complete elimination of the defect, it is recommended to replace the grease in the bearing with XADO Grease for constant velocity joints.
